Featuring the highly-acclaimed Divertimento Ensemble and international concert organist of The Bach Choir, Philip Scriven, this moving performance offers a journey of reflection, connection and renewal through music that speaks directly to the heart.
The profound devotion of Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri sits alongside Caroline Shaw's powerful response To the Hands, while Max Richter's On the Nature of Daylight and Jake Runestad’s luminous reimagining of Mozart's Ave Verum offer moments of deep reflection. The architectural beauty of Howells' Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis (Collegium Regale) anchors the programme in rich choral tradition, contrasted by the sparkling energy of JS Bach's Sinfonia (from Cantata 29). Spiritual yearning and liberation find voice in Iain Farrington's striking organ solo arrangement of Steal Away, while Ola Gjeilo's Dark Night of the Soul explores the dramatic path from darkness towards light.
